Apple Tree Productions is a company devoted to providing a challenging and excellent after-school and summer education theater programs to children of all ages and abilities in the Olympia and surrounding areas. We produce full-length plays and invite professionals to work alongside students for the ultimate theater experience.
When We Rehearse
We are excited to announce that during the 2019 Season we will be rehearsing at the Olympia Little Theater. Our performances will be held at Tumwater High School Performing Arts Center.
When Apple Tree Productions works with your school we rehearse at schools or at designated rehearsal spaces for two hours Monday through Friday. The rehearsal process stretches over a four week period. The end of the last week is known as Technical Rehearsals or Tech Week; technical elements such as sound, lights, costumes, and makeup are incorporated into the production for Opening Night. The schedule for Tech Week is determined during the rehearsal process, but rehearsals may be approximately one hour longer than regular rehearsals.
What We Provide
We offer a director, musical director, and additional staff to completely coordinate the production. Depending on the needs of the production, we provide costumes (except shoes), set, and sound. We staff the show with a crew during performances backstage as needed, as well as run the lights and sound, with the cooperation of parents and coordinators from the school.
Who Is At Rehearsals
The director, musical director, and stage manager provided by Apple Tree are present at rehearsals with the students. We welcome any staff to stop by and watch when they can!
Aside from drop-off and pick-up times, we do not allow parents to attend rehearsals.* We find having parents, friends, or other family members present to be distracting to the students. Besides! It ruins the surprise of their performance.
*Parents volunteering as a specific crew member may attend rehearsals.
We are only able to do what we do because of people like you and our wonderful sponsors.
